Marrakshi Life Opens Its First Boutique in La Mamounia’s Gardens

For a fashion label built around fabrics woven in Marrakech, the first standalone shop has opened remarkably close to home. Marrakshi Life has unveiled a boutique in the gardens of La Mamounia, turning an octagonal glass pavilion into a showcase for the clothing and objects produced through its local workshop.

Founded in 2013 by Randall Bachner and Nicholas Minucciani, Marrakshi Life works with a team of local weavers and tailors to create contemporary caftans, coats and other garments from handwoven textiles. Its collections have been sold internationally, but the La Mamounia space marks the label's first dedicated retail address.

The interior was created with designer Gabriella Khalil, whose first African project was documented in October. Hundreds of metres of pale, handwoven fabric form softly draped curtains around bright clothes and a mix of collectible pieces. A Studio Sana Benzaitar rug, dark lacquered cabinetry and locally sourced objects turn the glass room into something between a boutique and a furnished salon.

There is a second development here, beyond an additional place to buy clothing. Marrakshi Life is extending its woven-fabric language into furniture. Upholstered stools using the brand's stripes are among its first pieces, alongside ceramics by Marrakech-based LRNCE and vintage designs selected for the interior.

That direction places craftsmanship inside a wider commercial conversation. The garments, interior and furnishings all rely on the same underlying idea: textiles made through Marrakech's workshop economy can be sold as contemporary international design without hiding the labour or materials involved.

The boutique occupies a pavilion in La Mamounia's garden setting, rather than the brand's production atelier. No individual boutique opening hours or walk-in rules independent of the hotel's visitor-access policy have been verified; anyone planning to visit specifically for shopping should check directly with the hotel or Marrakshi Life.
