Guéliz’s New 429-Space Underground Car Park Is Open: Entrances and Prices

Drivers in central Guéliz have gained a new alternative to circling the crowded streets around Place du 16 Novembre. The underground public car park opened on September 7, 2026, with 429 spaces for cars, motorcycle bays and ten electric-vehicle charging points. It is now a functioning facility, not merely one of Marrakech's proposed parking projects.

The 9,500-square-metre structure occupies two levels below the square beside Jardin El Harti. Marrakech's streets around Avenue Hassan II carry through traffic, retail activity and trips into offices and cafés. The location places hundreds of parking bays immediately beneath this busy part of Guéliz rather than at the edge of the city.

Two driving entrances serve the garage: Avenue Hassan II and Avenue Oued El Makhazine. Vehicles leave towards Avenue Cadi Ayyad or Oued El Makhazine. A useful distinction for first-time visitors is that Cadi Ayyad is listed as an exit rather than an entrance; approaching it from the wrong side could mean an awkward detour.

The car park is described as operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Inside are three automatic payment machines, 35 direction and availability displays and a camera system. Ten electric-vehicle charging points are part of the installation, but published parking charges should not be mistaken for confirmation of the price or availability of charging.

The first fifteen days after opening were free. That introductory period ended on September 21; visitors should now expect to pay. For cars, published prices start at 5 MAD for the first hour and add 3 MAD for each additional hour. The fixed-duration options are 17 MAD for four hours, 25 MAD for eight hours, 30 MAD for twelve hours and 40 MAD for twenty-four hours.

For regular users, the published monthly options are 570 MAD for round-the-clock access, 420 MAD for daytime access from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and 270 MAD for nights from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. The subscription conditions described locally also require a 50 MAD card and a minimum three-month commitment. Motorcycle rates follow a separate scale, starting at 3 MAD for one hour.

Not all accounts agree on the number of two-wheeler spaces. Contemporary coverage gives either 60 or 80, while the 429-car capacity is consistent. The exact motorcycle bay allocation should therefore be treated as unconfirmed. The new garage is also separate from the proposed Medina parking projects, which have different locations, timelines and tariffs.

The September 21 report by Le360 documents the garage after it began operating and includes the price schedule. A detailed local parking guide gives access routes and subscription conditions. The cover photograph shows the actual completed Place du 16 Novembre entrance and its live space-availability sign, not a CGI of the earlier plan.
