Royal Mansour Marrakech has been ranked No. 26 in The 50 Best Hotels 2026 and named the Best Hotel in Africa. The results were announced in Paris on September 15.

The annual list is compiled from votes cast by more than 800 hospitality experts, including hoteliers, journalists, business travelers and other experienced travelers. The organizer divides the academy into 13 regions, gives each member seven votes and states that hotels cannot pay, apply or nominate themselves for inclusion.

Why Royal Mansour was recognized

The ranking profile emphasizes Royal Mansour’s unusual accommodation model. Instead of conventional rooms, the Marrakech property is organized around private riads distributed through a walled estate designed to resemble a medina.

It also highlights Moroccan craft throughout the property, including tilework and locally made objects, together with the hotel’s discreet service system. Royal Mansour says the property contains 53 private riads and places Moroccan craftsmanship at the center of its design.

What the ranking means for travelers

The award is a hospitality industry ranking rather than an official hotel classification. Its methodology is based on recent stays and personal experience reported through an anonymous voting academy, not on a published checklist inspection.

Royal Mansour Marrakech is located on Rue Abou Abbas El Sebti near the Medina. The ranking does not announce any new visitor access, package or room rate, so travelers should check the hotel directly for current availability and prices.

For Marrakech, the recognition adds another international distinction to a hospitality market that spans palace hotels, resorts, riads and independent stays. It also places a property built around Moroccan architecture and craft within the ranking’s global top 30.
