October 2 update: the full official weekend programme

Marrakech’s official tourism office has now published the detailed La Kéchoise programme for October 2 to 4, including the Saturday partner village and the final race route.

Saturday, October 3: free activities at Koutoubia Square

The Partner Village opens at Koutoubia Square with activities running through the day. The programme starts at 08:00 with a Shakeout Run led by Hind Slaoui and Les Belles Coureuses.

At 11:00 there is boxing and taekwondo, followed at 12:00 by “The thread that connects us” with Dar Babana. Yoga-dance and conscious movement begins at 13:00, Mum’s Home × Pink October at 14:00, a giant AEM quiz at 15:00 and a women’s trek with Nahya Forever at 15:30.

The village also includes prevention and awareness activities, meetings and race-bib collection throughout the day. At 18:00, Dar Babana hosts the round table “Women in motion, health in action.”

Sunday, October 4: the 7 km race

Runners are asked to meet at 08:00, with the 7 km race starting from Koutoubia Square at 08:30.

The official route runs from Koutoubia Square past the Agdal Gardens, through the Medina and finishes at Place des Ferblantiers. Water and fruit refreshment points are planned along the course.

Health and awareness are part of the event

The official programme also includes a medical awareness area focused on breast-cancer prevention, with information and practical awareness activities available during the weekend.

The race supports the Dar Babana association, while the Saturday village is designed as a broader public event around sport, wellbeing, prevention and community rather than only a bib-collection point.

What visitors need to know

The Partner Village at Koutoubia Square is useful even for people who are not running. Saturday’s workshops and activities are free, although some require registration and remain subject to availability.

For Sunday morning, expect activity around Koutoubia Square, the Agdal area, sections of the Medina and Place des Ferblantiers as the race moves through central Marrakech.

La Kéchoise will return to Marrakech on Sunday, October 4, 2026 for its fifth edition, bringing a women only road race through the center of the city.

The organizer lists an 8:30 start from Place Koutoubia and a finish at Place des Ferblantiers. The planned route covers 7 km and is designed around central Marrakech landmarks, making the event visible in areas that are also heavily used by visitors.

The wider program begins before race morning. A launch dinner and show is scheduled for October 2 at Au Bédouin in the Agafay desert, with shuttle transport planned from Hivernage. The organizer also places the event within the wider October breast cancer awareness campaign and describes sport and solidarity as its central themes.

Anyone moving around Koutoubia and the Medina on the morning of October 4 should expect an unusually busy atmosphere around the start and finish areas. Participants can register through the official La Kéchoise website while places remain available.

October 2 Agafay launch dinner

La Kéchoise’s official website has now published fuller details for the October 2 launch evening in the Agafay desert. The event begins around 19:00, with the dinner and show scheduled from 19:30. The dinner-show price is 55 euros and includes the meal and entertainment.

Shuttle transport is being offered from Hivernage for 10 euros, and the organizer recommends reserving the shuttle in advance.

One detail needs checking before departure: the organizer’s homepage currently names the Agafay venue as Au Bédouin, while its practical-information page names La Bohème. Both pages describe the same October 2 launch evening. Visitors should therefore confirm the final pickup and venue details with La Kéchoise before leaving Marrakech.

Race registration and event village

The organizer currently lists race registration at 25 euros for international participants who live outside Morocco, and 15 euros for Moroccan participants or non-Moroccan residents of Morocco.

The partner village is scheduled around Place Koutoubia from October 1 into the race weekend. The race itself remains set for Sunday, October 4 at 08:30, starting at Place Koutoubia and finishing at Place des Ferblantiers over a 7 km route.
