Barceló Palmeraie Oasis Resort is using tonight to formally unveil a new phase of its Marrakech offering, including new restaurant spaces and Palmeraie Oasis Camp, a tented desert-style stay built into the palm grove outside the city centre.

Marrakech’s official tourism office announced an October 2 launch evening at the resort, while Barceló’s own website is already presenting Oasis Camp as a bookable accommodation and experience concept connected to the wider five-star property.

A desert-style stay without leaving the Palmeraie

The new Oasis Camp is positioned as a quieter, more immersive alternative to a conventional hotel room. Barceló says the camp combines tented accommodation with modern comforts, traditional Moroccan craft references and private pools.

Rather than operating as an isolated camp far from the city, it is tied directly to the Barceló Palmeraie Oasis Resort. Guests can also use the main resort facilities, including its two swimming pools, wellness centre, hammam, jacuzzis, treatment rooms and restaurant and bar spaces.

The resort is also adding new restaurants

The October 2 launch is also being used to present newly opened restaurant concepts at the resort. The official tourism announcement does not yet name each restaurant or publish individual menus, so visitors should check directly with the property for the latest opening hours and reservation details.

Barceló describes the wider resort as having several distinct dining spaces built around Moroccan and international cuisine, from buffet and à la carte restaurants to poolside service.

Oasis Camp comes with a full experience programme

Barceló’s own Oasis Camp pages now list a broad menu of bookable activities designed around the Palmeraie setting.

Those include quad-bike routes, buggy excursions, camel rides, morning walks with yoga, private yoga sessions, photo shoots in traditional Moroccan dress, Moroccan cooking workshops and desert-style picnics.

There is also a private evening dining experience under the stars, designed for couples and groups looking for a more secluded dinner setting.

A new option for travelers who want the desert feel without Agafay

For Marrakech visitors, the most interesting part of the concept is its location. The resort sits in the Palmeraie, around 15 kilometres from Marrakech Menara Airport and within driving distance of the Medina and the city centre.

That gives Oasis Camp a different role from a night in the Agafay desert. It offers a desert-inspired setting, tents and outdoor experiences while keeping guests connected to a full resort and much closer to central Marrakech.

What is confirmed today

The resort’s launch evening is scheduled for Friday, October 2 at 18:30. It is presented as an inauguration and networking event for partners and guests rather than a general public festival.

For travelers, the useful news is that Oasis Camp is already being marketed directly by Barceló and the resort is formally introducing the camp and its new restaurant offer as part of its Marrakech hospitality lineup.

Practical details

Barceló Palmeraie Oasis Resort and Palmeraie Oasis Camp are located on Route de Fès in Marrakech’s Palmeraie. Barceló lists the property around 15 kilometres from Marrakech Menara Airport and around 8.8 kilometres from Marrakech railway station.

Visitors interested in the camp, dining or activities should check current availability directly with the resort, as prices and bookable experiences vary by date.
