Inside YZA: The Women-Run Guéliz Atelier Visitors Can Walk Into in Marrakech
A Marrakech label that has just shown in Paris is also one of the easier places in Guéliz for visitors to see contemporary Moroccan craft being made rather than only seeing the finished product in a shop.

YZA, founded by Nawal Rmili, operates a women-run design studio and artisan atelier at 66 rue Yougoslavie in Guéliz. The studio is open to visitors, who can see work in progress and buy pieces directly on site.
Fresh from TRANOÏ Paris
YZA was one of the African labels presented through the CANEX x TRANOÏ programme at the Palais Brongniart in Paris from October 1 to 4, 2026. TRANOÏ listed YZA in the accessories selection representing Morocco.
That recent Paris appearance gives the Marrakech studio a timely fashion connection, but the more useful point for a visitor is that the brand’s production is not hidden behind a showroom. The atelier itself welcomes people in.
What you can actually see
YZA says raffia, doum and banana leaf arrive at the Guéliz studio as raw materials and are transformed into finished pieces by hand. Depending on when you visit, you may see bags being woven, beadwork being added, fabrics being cut and sewn, or raffia being prepared.
The brand says each piece involves between two and 70 hours of handwork depending on the design.
What YZA sells
Current collections include handmade bags and baskets, ready-to-wear pieces, jewelry and raffia charms. The brand’s own shop currently lists examples such as its La Sculpture bags, Palazzo trousers, fruit-inspired raffia charms and earrings.
YZA also offers fittings, alterations and lifetime repairs at the studio for its pieces.
A useful stop for visitors who want to see the making
This is not a traditional souk workshop and it does not pretend to be one. YZA is a contemporary Marrakech fashion and accessories label working from Guéliz, with a studio format that lets visitors see the people and processes behind the objects.
For travelers interested in Moroccan design, fashion and craft, that makes it a useful complement to shopping in the Medina: the experience is more studio-based, the prices are clearly presented and the makers are working in the same space where the pieces are sold.
Opening hours and address
YZA Studio is at 66 rue Yougoslavie, Guéliz, beside Rôtisserie de la Paix. The brand currently lists opening from Wednesday to Sunday, 12:00 to 20:00, Monday from 12:00 to 16:00, and Tuesday closed.
YZA says the studio is around a ten-minute walk from Place du 16 Novembre. Visitors can come to see the work in progress and shop the collections on site.
