A culinary team rooted in Marrakech is heading to the world final of the Bocuse d’Or after Morocco won the 2026 African continental selection.

The winning Morocco team comes from TFAYA, the Arabesque brasserie at Park Hyatt Marrakech. Chef Issam Rhachi served as coach, with Abdessamad Dandani as the candidate, Ahmed El Hilali as commis and Chef Rachid Maftouh as team president.

Morocco competed against Egypt, Mauritius, Tunisia, Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire at the continental selection held in Agadir on September 24. The official Bocuse d’Or results confirm that Morocco and Egypt secured Africa’s places at the 2027 Grand Final in Lyon.

TFAYA is Park Hyatt Marrakech’s Moroccan and Arabesque restaurant in Al Maaden. The hotel describes its cooking as a contemporary interpretation of Moroccan culinary traditions, with Issam Rhachi overseeing the resort’s restaurants.

For Marrakech, the result puts a local restaurant team on one of international gastronomy’s most visible competition stages. Park Hyatt Marrakech announced the victory this week and said it will support the team as preparations begin for Lyon.

What happens next

The Bocuse d’Or Grand Final will take place in Lyon in January 2027. Morocco will represent Africa alongside Egypt following the continental qualification.

The competition itself took place on September 24. Park Hyatt Marrakech has now publicly celebrated the result and confirmed that its TFAYA team will move into preparation for the 2027 world final.

For visitors interested in Marrakech’s contemporary food scene, the result also draws attention to TFAYA, where Rhachi’s cooking focuses on Moroccan dishes and flavors interpreted through modern restaurant techniques.
